Sportco Acquires Gabrielle Rohde Royce Apparel Line

Supplier Sportco (asi/88792) announced today that it is acquiring the Gabrielle Rohde Royce, GabiSport and Rohde Royce for Men labels of Rohde Royce Inc. Financial terms of the transaction were not released. The Gabrielle Rohde Royce brand will re-launch this Spring with a new product line leveraging Sportco’s national sales and distribution networks, as well as its apparel decoration services. As part of the deal, Gabrielle Rohde has joined Sportco to help re-launch her brands and market them to the ad specialty industry.
“Our relationship with Gabrielle further demonstrates our commitment to the promotional products industry and allows our customers access to both unique blank apparel and fully embellished products, all under one roof from our centrally located Illinois location,” said Eric Withaar, president of Sportco.
Rohde views the transaction as providing her brands with both stability and new channels for growth. “Sportco shares my vision for servicing this industry,” she said. “Their Sportco Authentic line combines quality garments, unique detailing and fashion forward embellishments to an otherwise basic category in the same way we’ve approached the ladies’ market. I’m particularly excited about their laser appliqué and all-over screen print decoration. It was imperative that we chose the right partner to re-launch the line.”
