Martini Promotions Acquires Sublimation X

Montreal-based Martini Promotions (asi/68935) has acquired nearby apparel supplier Sublimation X (asi/90027), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sublimation X, which was founded in 1992, will remain a separate brand and its line of products will be featured in its own catalog in January. "We're now offering lower minimums, starting with just six pieces," said Karen Slabotsky, marketing manager for Martini Promotions. "We're excited. The response we've gotten has been incredible."

Per the deal, four Sublimation X employees, including the company's founder Claude Latendresse, were retained. Latendresse remains a part owner of Sublimation X, with his focus now on sales. Following the acquisition, both Martini Promotions and Sublimation X are manufacturing items in the same facility. "Our new highly specialized equipment allows us to offer a greater array of options and styles for our vast network of distributors," said David Puterman, president of Martini Promotions.

Established in 1999, Martini Promotions manufactures approximately 300 products featuring customized lanyards, tissues, tote bags and sublimated apparel. The company operates under the main brands of Crazycordz, Achoo Tissue and now Sublimation X. Executives at Martini Promotions, which employs 44 people, would not reveal annual revenue information. "We're definitely up compared to 2009," Slabotsky said. "We're extremely optimistic going forward and we think this deal will propel us to another level."
