ASI encourages all employees to take every opportunity to lend a helping hand. We have helped to raise nearly $2 million in cash and goods for worthy causes since 2003. That amount includes $620,000 for the American Red Cross to assist hurricane victims, over $25,000 for the Adopt-A-Family program, five tons of donated items to food banks and homeless shelters and $60,000 to PPEF (an industry education fund). Chairman Norman Cohn and his family's efforts raised about $1 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.cohnsisters.com), and over $64,000 for CEO Tim Andrews' personally established food bank fund in his native state of Indiana.
Every year, ASI raises upwards of $25,000 in payroll deduction commitments for the United Way of Bucks County. The Cohn Family matches individual employee contributions up to $1,000. The money helps provide housing, food and education to area residents in need.
Family Service Association’s Holiday Gift Drive – Every holiday season, ASI employees band together to donate gifts to underprivileged families. In 2014, over 1,000 families received gifts.
Silent Auction & Sample Sale – For two days, employees bid on a wide array of items including exclusive parking spots. The sample sale gives them a chance to purchase product samples that are featured in our magazines. These events combined raise an average of $3,000 each year for the Southeastern PA American Red Cross.
Red Cross Blood Drives – Our blood drives are held on-site and twice annually to encourage employee donations. The American National Red Cross has awarded ASI its prestigious Circle of Humanitarians award to recognize outstanding corporate philanthropy achievements.
Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden – ASI employees visit the Hope of the Harvest Charitable Garden every summer to help provide fresh produce for food pantries in Bucks County.
William Penn Center – ASI employees participated in a volunteer painting project at the William Penn Center in Fallsington, a day care associated with the United Way.
