T-Mobile Thanks Customers With Giveaway Campaign

T-Mobile is thanking its customers with a package of perks, including weekly giveaways and ownership in the company.

On Monday, CEO John Legere unveiled the #GetThanked campaign, a series of initiatives rewarding customers for making T-Mobile the third-largest wireless carrier in the U.S. As of March 2016, T-Mobile had about 65.5 million subscribers, after adding 2.2 million net customers in the first quarter of the year.

Those 65.5 million subscribers have the chance to receive swag and prizes every Tuesday by downloading the new T-Mobile Tuesdays app, which offers a free carry-out medium two-topping pizza from Domino’s, a free Frosty from Wendy’s, and a free movie rental from the video streaming service VUDU. Customers can also partake in this week’s prize: free tickets to see Universal Pictures’ “WarCraft” for its U.S. premiere this weekend.

Additionally, the T-Mobile Tuesdays program includes a weekly grand prize. To kick off the initiative, one customer will win a trip on a party bus to a private screening of “Warcraft” along with 40 friends. Upcoming prizes include a trip for two to Las Vegas to stay at Mandalay Bay, with tickets to see UB40 at the Mandalay Bay Beach; a trip to MLB All-Star week in San Diego; and a trip to New York City, with a $10,000 shopping spree in Gilt’s private showroom.

T-Mobile also announced “Stock Up,” an initiative allowing customers a full share of T-Mobile common stock. Customers can grow their ownership up to 100 shares a year by recommending T-Mobile to friends and family. Customers who’ve been with T-Mobile for at least five years will receive two full shares of T-Mobile stock for each recommendation until 2017. New customers who switch to T-Mobile under a qualified plan will also be eligible for a free share, worth about $43.07.

“At T-Mobile, we already wake up every day working for our customers – so I’ve decided to make it official and turn T-Mobile customers into T-Mobile owners by offering them stock,” Legere said in a press release. “And we’re thanking customers every week with cool stuff from brands people love. For free. Every Tuesday!”

The company will also be offering one free hour of Gogo Wi-Fi on smartphones for every Gogo-equipped domestic flight starting June 13.
