Obituary: George Kling Jr., Consultant
He Was 82
George Kling, Jr., a long-time industry consultant and past winner of the Marvin Spike Lifetime Achievement Award, died on Saturday, February 2. He was 82.
Kling began his career at Ude Murray & Cannan, before taking roles at Columbia Records and Dymo Industries. He later founded Potential Profits Group, which became a well-known marketing consulting firm. As further evidence of his prominence in the market, Kling was named one of the most influential people in the ad specialty industry in Counselor's 50th anniversary issue, in April of 2004.
Kling is survived by five children, Debra, (Walter), Cheryl, (Steve Scopino), Kerry, (Ellen), Kimberly (Andrew) and Christian (Susie), along with eight grandchildren and one great-grand daughter. A memorial gathering will be held at the W. S. Clancy Funeral Home in Branford, CT, tomorrow evening. A private service will follow on Wednesday.
