ASB Acquires Division Of Advance Business Graphics

Counselor Top 40 firm American Solutions For Business (ASB) (asi/120075) has acquired the distributor division of California-based Advance Business Graphics (ABG) (asi/108996), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the agreement, which was completed on August 26, were not disclosed. "In this deal, we grow our sales and we gain seasoned, experienced associates," says Justin Zavadil, vice president of sales and vendor relations at ASB. "We buy from ABG as a vendor, so it's a good fit and partnership."

Through the acquisition, ASB adds a total of 10 ABG salespeople – operating in offices in California, Texas and Illinois – and five customer service reps. In 2010, the group of salespeople generated $8.4 million for the ABG distributor unit, which is a division of a large print and document management firm. “They’ve focused a lot on the health care market, credit unions and the transportation industry,” says Zavadil. “They’ve sold some promotional products, but we can provide them with many more options.”

With its headquarters located in Mira Loma, CA, ABG employs approximately 200 people and produces annual revenues of $26 million, according to ASI CreditConnect. Ranked by Counselor as the 12th largest distributor in the ad specialty industry, ASB reported 2010 North American ad specialty sales of $96.7 million. Zavadil says his company has a goal to increase sales – through organic growth and acquisitions – by more than 10% in the next year.
