Levy Advertising Purchases Universal Adwear

Miami-based Levy Advertising Enterprises Inc. (asi/253164) has purchased the assets of Universal Adwear (formerly asi/103530), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but acquired assets include customer lists and Universal Adwear's website. "This was an easy deal and it made sense for everyone," said Al Levy, president of Levy Advertising. "We did all their screenprinting, so they knew us and it was a good fit."

According to Levy, five Universal Adwear reps will be retained and operate under the new company name of Adwear by Levy, a subsidiary of Levy Advertising. Adwear by Levy will maintain a branch office in Deerfield Beach, FL, for the near future. "Eventually, we're going to wrap it all into one company," Levy says.

Founded in 1976, Levy Advertising sells promotional products and provides contract embroidery services. The company generates annual sales of about $5 million, according to Levy. Yearly revenues at Universal Adwear are roughly $1 million, down from several years ago when sales were much higher.
