Kaeser & Blair Acquires General Graphics Vol. 796
March 8, 2011
Counselor Top 40 distributor Kaeser
& Blair (asi/238600) has acquired Ohio-based distributor General Graphics
Products LLC (asi/203950), the companies have announced. Financial terms of the
deal, which was finalized on March 1, have not been disclosed. "Kaeser & Blair is always looking for partnerships and
we think this is a good deal for everybody," says Gregg Emmer, vice
president and chief marketing officer for Kaeser
& Blair. "General Graphics is a well-established, classic distributor
that's a strong regional performer."
Per the agreement, General Graphics will operate as an
independent subsidiary of Kaeser & Blair,
maintaining its name and ASI number. General
Graphics, which generates annual revenues of $3 million, has a staff of seven
salespeople as well as a small administrative support team. "This is a bit
of a unique situation for us, but I want to be clear that we have no plans of
changing our business model," Emmer says. "We don't know what we'll
do with this company in the future, but for now they'll be stand-alone."
According to Emmer, Kaeser &
Blair continues to enjoy improving sales following last year's revenue increase
to $79.2 million from $75.2 million in 2009. "We've almost recovered from
where we were before the recession," Emmer says. "We're up another 3%
for this year."
