LED Flashlights Recalled Over Burn Hazard

(2/20/2014)

California-based Lucent Ace Manufacturing, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled Chinese-made LED flashlights because of the potential for the lights’ canisters to rupture. The recalled items, sold exclusively at Academy Sports + Outdoors, are about 3 ½-inches tall, have hand straps, come in colors black, red, green and blue, and have style number FSAACE6022 printed on the packaging.

No injuries have been reported, although a flashlight canister did rupture while in a consumer’s hand, posing a burn hazard. About 3,000 of the recalled flashlights were sold between October of 2013 and November of 2013 for about $3 each, the CPSC said.

Consumers who own any of the recalled flashlights should return the items to Academy Sports immediately for a refund. Additional recall information can be found at www.lucentace.com.
