BDA Names Martin CMO

(3/21/2013)

Counselor Top 40 distributor BDA (asi/137616) announced this week that it has promoted Rob Martin to chief marketing officer. Martin joined BDA in 2009 as vice president of marketing and oversees all facets of the company's marketing and communication efforts. "Rob is a tremendous leader and world-class marketing professional," said Jay Deutsch, co-founder and CEO of BDA, and a member of the Counselor Power 50. "His accomplishments over the last four years are astounding, and we couldn't have a better person at the helm to drive our future growth."

With a background in consumer and sports marketing, Martin brings more than 20 years of marketing and management experience to the CMO position. Prior to joining BDA, he worked in executive management positions for brands such as the NBA's Seattle Sonics, WNBA's Seattle Storm, and Tully's Coffee.

"I'm incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such passionate and creative people with an unmatched drive to win and tackle any challenge or opportunity to innovate," Martin said. "Jay and Eric (Bensussen, co-founder) have developed an amazing culture at BDA and made the company the trusted partner for the world's largest brands. BDA truly has its finger on the pulse of popular culture and is credited with delivering unique and engaging brand experiences. I am honored to be part of this inspiring team."

BDA ranks as the second-largest distributor in the ad specialty industry, reporting North American promotional products sales in 2012 of $286.4 million.
